Give to the 2022 Campaign

Give to Emergency Response

Get Help from Jewish Family Services

We at the Federation, Jewish Family Services and the Jewish Foundation of Greensboro are working around the clock to keep our infrastructure strong and intact so that we can continue to lead our community through these difficult and challenging times. Our priorities:

• Provide a Safety Net for our Jewish Community.

JFS responds by attending to the mental health concerns of community members to lessen anxiety related to the crisis; operating the Food Pantry, providing van transport for clients, providing food delivery and coordinating reassurance calls to elders alone at home. Once the pandemic slows, JFS will lead the way in recovery efforts to bring hope to the unemployed by offering support groups, skills building workshops as well as networking and placement opportunities.

• Support and Sustain our Professional Staff.

To ensure their health and safety, we have enabled our staff members to work efficiently and effectively from home. While our physical building may be officially “closed” we are very much “open” for business.

• Support of the Jewish Federations of North America.

JFNA deserves a gold star for its leadership in providing webinars and support calls for professionals and volunteer leaders through this difficult time.

• Improve the Way we Communicate.

We are communicating virtually with our volunteers, our boards and committees, all local leadership as well as the entire Jewish community. We are sending weekly Virtual Visions emails, and we have enhanced our presence on social media through our Anchei Greensboro initiative and FACEBOOK LIVE events.

• Continue a Deep Jewish Presence in Greater Greensboro.

Our JFS Food Pantry is open to the entire community— supplying food for over 80 families each month. Donor Advised Fund Distributions from our Foundation are financially supporting local NGO’s. Marilyn Forman Chandler and Sue Simmons are serving on the United Way/CFGG COVID-19 Task Force which is distributing funds to area NGO’s involved in supporting our community members.

We ask that you continue to support the Emergency Response Fund and the 2022 Annual Campaign, so that the Federation can meet the needs of our Jewish community.

In an effort to protect the health and safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff as the state responds to the continuing outbreak of novel Coronavirus, The Greensboro Jewish Federation is making the following temporary adjustments:

• The Federation building is closed to visitors unless by invitation. Staff members are working from home.

• Programming, communications and services will remain active to the fullest extent possible, going virtual when possible.

• Board and committee meetings will be held through electronic/remote access. Participants will receive dial-in information prior to each meeting.

• Delays in response time to emails and calls may occur as we continue to receive a significantly increased amount of electronic correspondence.
