Greensboro is a prosperous and vibrant urban center. The Greensboro Jewish Federation and the Jewish community here dates back to the early 1900s and have grown and prospered to become the active, involved, and dynamic community residing here today.

The Greensboro Jewish Federation, recognized as a leader of small Jewish communities in the US and Canada, is distinguished by a high level of volunteer leadership commitment, its creativity and innovation, and an annual campaign of over $1.5 million. About Our Organization

The Greensboro Jewish Federation supports Jewish people locally and globally, financially, emotionally, physcially, and spiritually.

The Jewish Foundation of Greensboro, a constituent agency of the Greensboro Jewish Federation, offers many options to allow donors to show their support of and commitment to the Jewish people, including donor advised funds, endowment funds, and testementary gifts.

Jewish Family Services of Greensboro, also a constituent agency of the Greensboro Jewish Federation, supports and strengthens Jewish family and communal life by providing services to meet the needs of community members.

Community Highlights

Many people are surprised by Greensboro’s rich cultural offerings, especially in its historic downtown area. Antique shops and art galleries dot the South Elm area, and dining options range from eclectic food trucks to fine Southern-flavored dining. Greensboro Cultural Center at Festival Park offers a full range of performance activities for adults and children.

Within the city, there is a lot to explore. The Greensboro Children's Museum provides exciting hands-on learning opportunities, while the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, housed in the Woolworth’s building, tells the story of the sit-in movement. The Greensboro Science Center includes an Animal Discovery Zoo and a new SciQuarium.

For outdoor adventures, Greensboro’s network of trails offers a variety of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors while being physically active; Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and Bur-Mil Park are just two of many locations with walking and biking paths and a wide variety of recreational opportunities.

Education and academics are prominent throughout the city. The Greensboro Public Library strives to provide free and equal access to information and foster lifelong learning. Guilford College offers its Bryan Lecture Series, with internationally-acclaimed speakers. Greensboro’s major institutions of higher education are often recognized for academic excellence, sports victories, and campus diversity.
