SHALOM ACT PASSES IN NC SENATE

The Greensboro Jewish Federation applauds the passage of the SHALOM Act in the North Carolina Senate. The bill will now go to Governor Cooper to be signed into law.

By passing the SHALOM Act, North Carolina will adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, providing guidance to local governmental bodies, educational institutions, and law enforcement agencies on identifying and responding to antisemitic incidents.

Thank You!

This has been a group effort. Thank you to the volunteers and professional staff of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte, Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh, Jewish For Good, Hadassah, Voice4Israel and many other Jewish organizations for working together towards this goal.

Finally, we want to take the opportunity to thank YOU, each and every community member who called or emailed their elected officials in the North Carolina Legislature to ask them to support this bill. They heard you loud and clear at the NC State Capitol.

When we work together, we make Jewish Greensboro greater.

Please contact your NC State Senator today and thank them for voting for the “Standing Up to Hate and Leading with Our Moral Principals” Act - also known as the SHALOM Act.
